department overview

At LLESD, we have a great team, and it all starts in Human Resources (HR). When an employee comes on board at LLESD, their first point of contact is HR. From recruitment to coordinating panel interviews to onboarding, our Human Resources Coordinator is there every step of the way to set an employee up for success.

HR also supports her colleagues in numerous ways so they can support students. The services include:
  • Onboarding and credentialing of substitute teachers
  • Labor and employee relations
  • Leave management (FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, Maternity, etc.)
  • National board certifications
  • Volunteer clearance procedures
  • A sounding board and a safe place for an employee at any level to talk
  • Refine evaluation systems that establish high expectations, evidence-based feedback, and growth opportunities for all staff members.
  • Evaluate comprehensive Human Resources management systems to consolidate processes and improve efficiency.
  • Purposeful recruitment to bolster workforce diversity.
  • Implement practices that will attract, develop, and retain a diverse workforce.
  • Explore a hiring referral incentive program for employees.
  • Create regular capacity-building opportunities for assistant principals.
  • Create Aspiring Leaders Academy.
  • Develop apprenticeships for aspiring management.
