NEW:

Of particular importance is the new site of CYBERSAFETY information for students, parents, classroom awareness. For students, this site has many activities ("games") that teach valuable awareness and also computer etiquette. For parents, there is a wealth of information that will guide you and your parenting efforts. The sites selected are all state or nationally approved, and most are government sites...please take the time to explore this important area!!

District Technology Plan

The District Technology Plan provides complete information regarding our infrastructure, curriculum integration programs, budgeting, goals and objectives per grade, and staff development options. To review our 5 year state approved technology plan, click here.

Student Acceptable Use Agreement
and Back to School Slideshow (LE)

All students participate in a back-to-school presentation on safe and appropriate use of technologies, which includes discussions highlighting personal online safety, cyberbullying, and copyright/plagerism. The k-3 students come to the computer lab during their first weeks of school for a presentation/discussion. The 4-8th classes either sign up for a presentation in the labs, or the classroom teacher presents this PowerPoint Presentation. A printable copy of the handout of the slideshow (with notes for the presentation is here).

Students sign an Acceptable Use Agreement in Kindergarden (parent discussion and parent signature) for their K-3 Las Lomitas school use, and again in 4th grade for La Entrada 4-8 tech use. All new students entering the district also sign this.

Site Licensed Softwares

There are numerous site licensed softwares that students of all grades and special needs access during school. There are also some internet-based licenses that offer extended learning 24/7. Passwords the SMCOE portal which includes the products of World Book, United Streaming, Marco Polo, Dictionary.com, and many other softwares can be obtained by contacting smitchell@llesd.org.

Nettrekker is an easy-to-use tool for K-12 students and educators in a search environment you can trust! Logins can be made by referencing the district name at the REGISTER link.

KPAW

KPAW is our weekly onsite television station that is began weekly productions in January 2000. The productions are viewed only within the campus at this time. KPAW is produced during an elective class of 7th & 8th graders.

LAN Access

is exceptional at LE. Students and teachers on campus have the capability to access files and systems on campus servers from any site desktop. Each student has an individual folder that follows them throughout their years. All the rights and permissions of each user are managed according to their grade and curriculum.

Class TechLab Time

is part of the curriculum by grade level. Teachers can also request a lab time that is used for supportive curriculum usage, research and internet based, or training on specific technology skills.

Armchair Consultants

Armchair consultants are a growing list of parents who are involved with technologies in the Silicon Valley and offer suggestions, advice, and assistance via their email from home or work. We send monthly-ish emails out listing all our technology concerns, questions, and needs, and the wonderful parents respond when and where they can! To volunteer, please send an email to smitchell@llesd.org, thank you!
