Kindergarten Registration -
The registration packets are available in the school office starting the first Monday in January. Completed packets may be returned to the school office beginning the last Monday in January. Office hours are 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. School tours begin in December and can be scheduled by calling the school office at 650-854-5900, or stopping by to schedule.
For Kindergarten registration, please bring the following ORIGINAL documents when you return your registration packet. If you would like to make copies of these documents for us it would speed the registration process but we need to see the originals.
Please bring the following when you return your registration packet:
-
Proof of Residency. Your most recent phone bill and PG&E bill. If you have only just moved, a letter from the phone company and PG&E stating that your service is to be started will suffice.
-
Your child's original birth certificate or passport.
-
A record of your child's immunizations (yellow card) including Varicella. All immunizations must be completed prior to your child beginning school. Please do not fill out the blue California School Immunization Record, it will be filled out by school personnel once we copy your immunization card.
- Request for session changes are accepted from January to August. The requests are added to a wait list. Please email your request to jtraynor@llesd.org.
- The enclosed Physician's Form (white), signed by your doctor, after a physical exam. Note: It is possible to register without the doctor's form but not without a record of immunizations.
The medical form is required by law to enter first grade. DON'T wait until just before first grade. The health exam can be within 18 months of entering first grade.
- Families who do not have bus limitations and have requested FIRST session will be assigned FIRST session according to the date/time stamped on their completed registration by the office staff. Then, all remaining students will be assigned to the SECOND session in order to balance classes. Priority on the waiting list will also be established according to the date/time stamp on the completed registration form.
- Once the child has been assigned a session, that will be the child's session through second grade except for Ladera area residents and families who have written a letter requesting a session change. Kindergarteners living in the Ladera area are automatically assigned the 1st session if we receive your completed registration packet before May 1st. Ladera area students are assigned the 1st session for Kindergarten and the 2nd session for 1st and 2nd grade because there is no 2:05 bus to the Ladera area except on Wednesdays.

We will need the address of your child's previous school for requesting transfer of records.
To register at La Entrada School, you will need to stop in the office for a Registration Packet. You will need to read and complete the registration form, a language survey, and a records request card. You will also need to submit an updated California immunization record and proof of your residency.
-
Registration Form: Please fill out completely, including any special information we may need to know at the bottom of the form. Please be sure to include your child's previous school information.
-
Language Survey: Please fill out to meet our California Education Code requirements.
-
Records Request Card: Your signature allows us to request your child's school records from the previous school. Please fill in the complete address of the previous school on the reverse side and return the card to our school office or mail it to the previous school yourself. If you mail it yourself, please let the school secretary know you did so.
-
California Immunizations: For a registration to be complete we need to receive an up-to-date immunization record. You may want to ask your current school for a copy of your child's immunization record to present to La Entrada at the time of registration (as it often takes many weeks to receive the complete cumulative record from previous schools). Otherwise you may need to ask your physician to update the record and/or the immunizations.
-
Proof of District Residency: To complete your registration and place your child into a class we must receive proof of your residency. The only accepted proof of residency is your recent utility bill. Please submit the original bill (the portion that clearly states your name at such address) and it will be copied and returned to you immediately. If for any reason this document is not available or does not state your name, you must complete your registration at our District Office with the Superintendent's Office.
